Apply by June 12 at 5 PM Yield Giving, the charitable giving organization of philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, has launched a $250 million open call focused on elevating organizations working with people and in places with the greatest need in the U.S. This initiative will award unrestricted gifts of $1 million to 250 organizations. Local nonprofits are doing great work and we’d like to see some of this grant money come to western New York! Grants will be available to community-led, community focused nonprofits that are advancing the voices and opportunities of individuals and families of meager or modest means, and groups who have met with discrimination or other system obstacles. This includes organizations providing access to health care, stable and affordable housing, education and job training, support for sustained employment, asset ownership, civic engagement, and other pathways. Organizations must have an annual operating budget of at least $1 million and no more than $5 million for at least two of the last four fiscal years (2019 -2022) to be eligible. To support local organizations who are interested in applying, WNY funders are hosting a virtual session to answer questions about registering and applying on Wednesday, 4/26 from 3 to 4 p.m. Use this Zoom link to attend the informational webinar:(Includes details on the initiative, eligibility, FAQs and other details pertinent to registering and applying).
