The Niagara County Production Program provides matching grants for the purchase machinery or equipment that will enhance a company’s competitiveness. Grants of up to $50,000 are available with a dollar-for-dollar match from project sponsors. Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses located in Niagara County. Applicants must have owned the business prior to January 2020 to be eligible for funding.  In addition to the program information below, please visit our:

Program Goals:

  1. Support businesses that have been impacted negatively by the Covid-19 Pandemic

  2. Reduce production cost

  3. Increases efficiencies through automation or increased production

  4. Supports sustainability of the company

  5. Enables the company to enter new markets or attract new customers

  6. Incorporates the upskilling of employees or hiring additional employees

  7. Expand the use of green technologies

  8. Increase the safety of employees during production

 

Eligible Expenses:

Projects should include the purchase of machinery or equipment that could be integrated into their current manufacturing process; create an opportunity to enhance their existing process; or open the possibility of constructing an additional production opportunity.

Eligibility will, in part, be based on the project delivering a sustainable outcome that lends to a more viable company. This can be shown through research and data that would support an increase in market shares and/or production.
